On my way to church this morning we passed an enormous parade from the Jain Temple. Jains believe in reincarnation therefore many of them don't eat root vegetables because the harvesting of such can cause death to earthworms and other small bugs in the ground. You may be able to see some of the people wearing masks, in order not to breath in any bugs. My driver wasn't able to explain why they were celebrating, except that "everyone is always celebrating their gods in India."
